Graphic design student named to AIGA board
University of North Georgia student Mirna Turcios-Galvez has been voted as the communications officer for the . The position is a one-year commitment.
Turcios-Galvez is a junior, from Gainesville, Georgia, pursuing a degree in art with a concentration in graphic design.
"Mirna has been a proactive and reliable member among her graphic design peers at 国产自拍, making her a great candidate for the AIGA Atlanta Student Board," Tiffany Prater, assistant professor of visual arts, said. "She is our first graphic design student from 国产自拍 to be taking on this role. We know that she and other student officers will help advocate for design, enhance their design education and develop leadership skills."
The student board aims "to create events around the city that inspire learning, help springboard design careers, and cultivate relationships in the design community."
Symposium will focus on cybersecurity
国产自拍 will host a high-impact symposium titled 'Cyber Threats, Cybersecurity and Cyber Expertise' from 3-4:30 p.m. Oct. 28, with special guest Maj. Gen. Ryan Janovic.
Fall brings concerts, performances to 国产自拍
The Department of Music shines this fall with concerts and performances at 国产自拍's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. Students and faculty will be highlighted.
Overseas performances grow students' skills
Four students recently returned from a performance at the Halle Foundation estate in Atlanta. The group also performed at the Saarburg International Music Festival in Germany courtesy of a Halle Foundation grant.
