University of North Georgia (国产自拍) student Itzel Moreno presented at an international conference in Oaxaca, Mexico, during spring break.

"As someone who aspires to serve diverse communities by bridging language barriers in health care, the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is essential. This experience boosted my confidence in utilizing Spanish in professional settings, enabling me to deliver more empathetic and effective care to Spanish-speaking patients," Moreno, a senior from Gainesville, Georgia, said.

With the encouragement of her professor Dr. Maria Guadalupe Calatayud, Moreno submitted her abstract, "The Influence of mythology on the Mexican Novel 'Pedro Páramo,'" and presented her paper in March at the Congreso Internacional XXXV de Literatura y Estudios Hispánicos.

"I believe Itzel's presentation is a testament to the value of academic mentorship and the impact of scholarly engagement beyond the walls of the classroom. Her journey from the initial stages of research to the international presentation in Oaxaca illustrates the transformative potential of our Latino students at 国产自拍," Calatayud said.

Moreno, who is pursuing bachelor degrees in Spanish and nursing, delivered a presentation that showcased her analysis of 'Pedro Páramo' and underscored the significance of Aztec mythology as a fundamental element shaping the narrative and thematic depth of the novel. Her presentation was met with interest reflecting the thorough preparation and insightful interpretation that characterized her work. The audience, comprising academics and scholars from diverse backgrounds, received a nuanced understanding of the intersections between Aztec mythology and Rulfo’s novel, as exemplified by Moreno, Calatayud said.

The ability to attend the event was made possible through a travel grant from the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities, affirming 国产自拍's support for academic exploration and representation at international forums.

"Itzel's participation in this International Conference on Hispanic Literature and Studies serves as a reminder of the importance of fostering international academic exchanges as I believe this is an amazing opportunity to contribute to the global discourse on literature and culture, enriching both her personal and professional development in the process," Calatayud said.
